Topic: Lifepoems

Should I have returned?
To a place I knew so well
Was I wrong?
To force new on old

Would I be welcomed as a friend returning?
Or turned away
Traitor and abandoner

Can past times ever return?
And lend me a smile
Or are we stuck?
Forever progressing
No chance to look back

So badly the memories are desired
To come to life
To relive lost moments

All appears the same
Smells and sights
People and places
Maybe I am not an intruder
Stepping on the new man’s land

I am remembered
And for one split second in an ever progressing life
I feel time travel is possible
I feel welcomed by the past
New is old
Past is present
And I shall return

Well written, a beautiful write.

Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. Â©
