Sammy told Rick, "Down at the shop
we've got a safe that won't quite lock,
tell me are you in?"
The story begins
Ricky heard him out and said, "Let's go"
Where it might end, they didn't know
But they were friends,through thick and thin
Only two paths and they had to choose
but they were down to nothing to lose...,

Don't have a thing 'cept what you got
Nothing ventured, nothing gained
It might hurt a little but it's only pain
Steady hand and nerves of steel
Ain't really living if it ain't real
Tomorrow might come, who knows

Fifty grand later they were on the run
Heading out west to have some fun
Spend every dime
On a really good time
Doubled their luck in a gambling town
Flew through the country, never touched down
They were on a roll, lying low

Rick didn't much like the sound of that

The money ran out and the running wore thin
Sammy made a call and came on in
To face the law
and take the fall
Back page crime, a little state time
but it all worked out, sitting here tonight
Are two good friends,laughing again
I had to ask,"If you had the chance...,"
They said "No" but I saw the glance....,
