The tree I am

A weary old tree empties his trunk
While dry leaves fall from his branches
In a day of light he shadows himself
It was the epitome of all his romances
He wants his roots to come out of the ground
He wants to leave this forest now
And he doesn’t want to stick around
Because he’s far too old to stay brown
The tree’s bark begins to thin
Once a thick skin is now soft green moss
And when his hope left the forest
His passion and drive has remained lost
He forms a wooden casket beneath
Inside his soul struggles to breathe
What was once a majestic tree
Has killed its inner mortal weave
