You’re not as cocky as you seem.

It wasn’t just a dream.
You do have a sadder half
The one you work to hide
Now I know how you really feel
About yourself inside.
I want to tell you you’re wonderful,
But that’s no longer my place.
I want to explain how striking you are,
And how I love to look at your face.
She offers no consoling
It’s only I who truly cares
My faith in your beauty
Can outlast all your inner snares.
Listen to my thoughts
Since they can’t be said.
Hear what I am thinking
At this moment in my head.
You are beautiful
And I miss you more each day
I’m sorry you’ll never hear this
But these are things I cannot say.

| That was a great poem, emotional and very sad. It's tough to know that sometimes you really want to tell someone what you're thinking but are never able to. |
