Fire of life

Contributed by katzie on Monday, 22nd March 2004 @ 10:07:32 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

-Life is as a burning fire
Giving you only a small time to accomplish something
-What will you do with it?
Toil in pain in learning a lifetime,
only to die, and forget all?
Put soul and heart into working and building,
only to retire, and watch it fall?
-Flames of life leap and dance before your eyes,
Reminding you of how little time you have left.
-Change to make them like you
Only to tear yourself apart?
Hide yourself from the outside world,
Try and cover the bleeding scars?
-The flames of life work deceptively
Luring you in with warmth and light
Once bring you in.... burn...
New Scars
many more times to wound.
Was it worth it

This is an interesting and I think very beautiful piece. It's very bold. This one reminds me why I love dark poetry so much! :)
