Deep within the battlefield lays a warrior of truth
Covered in the innocence and beauty of his youth
Laying in his grave, writing short tomorrows
His heart is torn, hes so alone, silent tears for sorrows
All around the earth erupts, but all he hears is her
A gentle voice, the softest touch, the world is just a blur
Surrounding him deaths embrace, hes cold as ice and snow
Yet his heart, its final beat, emits a warming glow
Shrouded by the fears of death, this warrior forgets
Everything that was his life, Love, the pain, regrets
But as he dies one thought remains, one of love so true
Captivated by this thought, his loved ones now in view
Nows hes left, hes nothing but, a statistic for the war
He died in arms against a plague, to try and save this tor
A plaque was made for this man, its sits where hes lost life
In simple words, for everyone, the firefighters strife

I second Larry. An essentially fine piece of poetry you've written here, about a world-changing tragedy. R&R is beyond reproach. 5 stars. |

Corny?!?!? Are you mad?!?!?
This is by far the most artistic and heartfelt write of this nature i've seen. This is good--really good. Gotta go with Neptunes First on this one, five stars for sure!
Truly,
-V.S. |
