My Darkness

Does my color
Rub off on you?
Does it spread
To cover everything?
Or does it just keep to itself?
Does it stay with me, where it’s safe?
Or does it try to take over?
My darkness is a speck,
It doesn’t become a night.
It is opposite of a single star,
Whose whiteness shines,
Lonely,
Through the dark, dark night.
But nobody yells at the star.
Night doesn’t scold the star.
The star is loved.
But the light scolds me.
I am its darkness.
I’m sorry for the night
I cause in your day.
White is always
Loved more than black.

Interesting poem.
I'm not really sure what to make of it, but I can tell you that I did like your use of a star for your subject's analogy. |
