::A Thousand Words::

Contributed by Syk0hsGirL on Wednesday, 18th September 2002 @ 06:23:11 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

One day Our mom was working
Her husband came to pick her up
My sis was in the car
Asking questions, so abrupt

Our mom was very happy
She surely had it all
The dream of every woman
To be happy most of all

My sis asked her certain things
When can we go see aunt Hilda?
My mother stopped to glare and said
Dear who? ...Who is aunt Hilda?

She looked over at her husband
She gave him a hard nudge
For he had fallen in love
With some girl from the elks club

Mom took her cigarette
Put it out on his arm indeed
She called him real bad names
And got out to walk the street

She walked to the bus stop
Where she made her journey home
To pack up all her things
To go where nobody knows

She took all of her children
She tried to do her best
She was to poor to feed them
So she gave them back to rest

She intended on coming back for them
And back indeed she went
But he had already gotten custody
Alone my mom's life spent

I know Hilda was mean to them
My sisters and my brother
My sister's lived their own lives
Over dose of pills grabbed my brother

My family all survived this
A long time my mom hated men
But now it's all in the past
Not to be relived again

Hilda's passed away now
My mom is happy where she is
But he sits blind, crippled, and alone
This is what cheating gets

A thousand words they paint a picture. So sad the way this ended. People really do get hurt when someone has pretended.
