When her daddy left for work,
On that september morning,
She gave him a kiss good-bye,
Proud, 'cause she didn't cry.
When he forgot to come home,
As the night wore on,
She listened to what mommy said,
And quietly went off to bed.
When christmas came and went,
And so did summer and spring,
She just held her head high,
And she still didn't cry.
But a year after the day,
Her father went away,
Never seen after his good-byes,
Now the little girl sits and cries.
Her daddy was a business man,
He worked at the World Trade Centre,
His body was never found,
An empty coffin in the ground.
