A FEEL FOR WHAT'S REAL

I have a feel for what's real,
and a taste for the fantasy.
I can see through most deals,
though most times I'll just let it be.
I've a sense of the truth,
unlike most it doesn't frighten me.
I can still hear the voice of my youth,
my life echo, calling out to me.
..................................................................................
SO
They alledge,
while I assert.
The truth they hedge.
'Cause truth can hurt.
The plans they've made,
with folks they know.
So truth they trade,
for status quo.
So, come on in!
Let's make a deal.
Give this for that.
Affix laws seal.
Record the time.
The date, the place.
The Deal is struck!
Quick! Hide your face.
...................................................................................
They thought it would be so simple.
Thought it would be a cinch.
They'd pop me like a pimple,
with just one pinch.
The truth ain't taking a dive.
The truth ain't taking the fall.
Lie will be lucky to surrive.
Probably the reason they stall.
