Ode to my cat

Contributed by Necromant on Saturday, 20th March 2004 @ 04:37:09 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Every morning I wake up with a burden on my legs,
Oh! It’s the cat, I soon realise as she scratches one of my hands,
She purrs quietly when I stroke her greyish/black soft pelt,
While looking smugly, with her green eyes, at my new formed welt

Pride would soon be forgotten when hunger changes her mood,
Her eyes would shine with a tinge of misery, begging me for food
Once fed and sated, on my comfy pillow she’ll spend her midday nap,
Until she sense me in front of the computer, ah then she’ll jump into my lap

And to end this ode to my dear cat, these words I shall say,
“If you’ll soak my rug again, dearly you’ll have to pay!”

Ah yes, those adorable felines. We don't train them, they train us. Mine is a perfect lady and has taught me to respond very well to her needs. This is an adorable write.

I can never understand this obsession that people have for cats. I find it troublesome enough dealing with people issues than to add another slew of pitfalls to leap into. But anyhow...quaint, wistful and nice... but I still don't like cats.. no matter how cute and playful your wonderful poetry makes it seem.

I love cats and I have only one very old gray cat left - and she is a demanding princess who thinks the bed belongs to her and wakes us promptly at light of day demanding to be fed with her annoying mewling.

Love your poem - all cat lovers will relate to this one

Very good and I do know what cha mean.
I have a momma cat with kittens ready to give away .
Also My cat adopted two kittens that aren't hers. My friend big lab dog brounght to her and they were only a few days old. She figured my momma cat had kittens so she called me. We adopted them but they are fine. I feed them between meals with a shot needle thingy. they seem to never get enuff to eat. They have their eyes open now and move around alot but they're still little.
Luved this as my kittens try to get up here and type like mom.
Luv, huggs,
emy

lol!! As my cat is a white long haired furball... She gets her revenge by pulling out her own hair and leaving it all over my bed. The side effect is that she's bald in most places she can reach with her mouth.

Great poem to a great species.
