A man torn apart
Is no longer a man
But now an animal
Haunted by dreams
Of humiliation,
Oppression and strife
A coldhearted savage
Wearing a man?s skin
A man torn apart
Has Lost all control
Of his own emotions
His mind and his soul
And no longer is
His body his own
The man torn apart
Thrives in the dark
Feeding on misery
And living on sin
This man torn apart
Now feels it is time
This man torn apart
Has made up his mind
He laces his boots
And he puts on his hat
And hears the bells chime
This man torn apart
Scans his own bedroom
Admiring his wife
He enters the room
His heart in his hand
And in painless time
Leaves with another
Our man torn apart
Discovers his sin
Filled with disgust
Calls 9-1-1
He now finds his son
Hugs him to himself
A life from his own
He carries his babe
Down to the river.
