Am I Here?

Contributed by Vigilante006 on Tuesday, 17th September 2002 @ 06:28:05 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Am I here or am I not?
Can you tell, for I cannot
Oftentimes I lie awake
And ponder thoughts profound
Yet the matter still is most opaque
And my questions yet abound

Am I here or am I not?
Despite all I have bethought
This question stems from deep within
I gaze upon the maelstrom of life
My dubious existence whirls therein
Spinning in confusion and ephemeral strife

Am I here or am I not?
My relativist reality is fraught
With unanswered questions
And unquestioned answers
They coalesce in nebulous fusion
This vague beingness spreads like cancer

Am I here or am I not?
All rhyme and reason comes to naught
When trying to define
This elusive concept known as life
And yet I still must try
To answer all these questions
With which my mind is rife

Am I here or am I not?
Being is a story without a plot
My thoughts at last do simply maunder
Throughin and throughout this illusory place
As all that is left to me is to ponder
The pseudo-existence of time and of space

I enjoyed this and think it deserves far more than a scoring of 1. So many questions yet so few answers can be aggravating sometimes don't you think.

I think there for I am...and yet, I know this feeling and you have described it well.
