Last night I saw my blood flow,
in the wane under my skin.
My heart beat like it would blow,
and I know what I do is a sin.
Then I saw my blood seep out,
the red liquid of my life.
Remembering what they all shout,
and I dug deeper with my knife.
Again I saw my blood slowly drip,
like so many hurtful lonely nights.
Thinking how my friends gave me the slip,
and knowing I can't win all these fights.
Like before I let my blood run free,
reseeing the loathing in their eyes.
It's the sad price I pay for being me,
and tomorrow I will tell more lies.
Long I watched my red tears run,
a hated face in every single one.
Building up my dark and morbid fun.
Words can hurt like bullets from a gun.
Last night I hid my blood away
in a mask of white band-aid.
Then I faced another day,
"Just a papercut," I said.
