Tolerance

Contributed by Necromant on Friday, 19th March 2004 @ 06:21:48 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The final sketches for the plan were being laid,
Tomorrow the price for his abnormality will be paid,
For his foolish honesty in an unsupervised moment,
His life will be put into constant torment

“I’m gay” was revealed out of a game of truth or dare,
For acceptance he asked as he stripped his soul bare,
Disgusted looks and foul words was all he received,
They spit on him and left, how could he be so deceived!

Crying, dying and alone, one day he will be found,
Raped, battered beaten and unceremoniously bound,
These will be his departing words in his final speech,
“Tolerance is still something we have to teach”

This poem portraits the truth of a closed minded society> Its teerrible to think people are capable of such things, may this messege arrive to those who don't think about these things. Good write

powerful write..i very much enjoyed it, I don't think it is right to torment others for what they can't control...and humanity does need to learn tolerance, then maybe we would be able to get along better....excellent write keep posting
