That night a warm snow fell.
And it draped the land.
We were waiting inside for some beauty.
That night there sure was a pretty rain...
Fell lightly, softly, in purity onto the walk.
We didn't see it.
We were too busy searching for....it....
We just didn't seem to know how to find
It.
Then,
as that crystalline comfort sat patiently,
pondering the fate of the world,
a group of students,
making their way to some fun,
Trampled right down the path.
And what had been was gone.
So when we looked outside we said,
"Look at that muck on the walk."
Muck.
The ignored beauty on the walk became
Muck.
And those blessed moments of opportunity
slipped right out of reach.

Hmm, the old adage "you never know what you have till you lose it." Yes we all need to notice the beauty around us a little better before it gets "mucked up."

I know all about ignoring something good until its gone. Fortunately for me, I was able to salvage some of it before it was all muck. It's a little mucky, yes, but I'm thankful to have it.
This one makes a reader think a little, but not too much. Good life lesson, actually. Good write.
