Trees Trees Everywhere?

Everyday I see another tree gone
No more shade, just a stump in the lawn
No nests or birdies, no leaves to rake
No oxygen exchange, for goodness sake!
What hurts me the most, I've just got to say
Very few think to bring this point into play
A brand new sapling to plant in the earth
No one can imagine the stupendous worth.
We need to replenish our depleating resources
The time is right now to set our courses
To stop this constant raping of our earth
To realize replacement has tremendous worth.
If we don't stop soon, we'll be killing her dead
Then where the hell are we all gonna head?
To another planet to repeat what we've done?
So why don't we, wisely, preserve this one?
