THE CAPTAIN OF THE CAMP

Contributed by rhymeandreason on Thursday, 18th March 2004 @ 06:46:21 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

I don't have all the facts,
just the brass tacks of the situation.
I can't tell you anything about that convicts life.
Although, I know a little about his expiration.
He was messing up REAL BAD,
probably wishing he had,
his hands on the guard,
that was keeping him off the yard.
How long had he been in the hole?
Long enough to feel like something found floating in your toilet bowl.

First, he spit on one guard,
cussed out the rest,
Then he started talking about their Mommas!
Screaming; "Put me to your test."
This was taken as a personal affront.
So the guards leveled the brunt
of their anger against him.

All this comotion brought out
the Captain of the Camp.
He is the main guy, when it comes to applying, "stimuli."
When he went in that cell,
we all knew that he wasn't coming out,
until that con screamed, and yelled; "No more!"
Only trouble was,
he never did do that.
Even though they ruptured his kidneys,
busted his ribs and shattered his jaw.
Then, one too many headshots, with a blackjack,
put the Captain of the camp outside the Law!

Oh, they got nervous then.
They took his sheets,
hung him from his bars,
and tried to call it SUICIDE.
But the coroner of the county was a man.
That game he would not play.
He stamped the folder of that case with HOMICIDE.
And it was the Captain of the camp they led away!

When he went to court,
the Captain plead guilty.
Humbly asking for mercy for what he did.
The judge loudly slammed
down his gavel, and said; " Ten years!"
But then, he said; "Suspended!"

He didn't lose his job.
He wasn't demoted.
In fact about four and a half months later,
the Captain was promoted.
They say he has a way with those extremely hard cases. They say he is much better, at not leaving traces.

You know i REALLY like your poetry, simply for the fact that you seem to have a knack of relating (what you say to be) factual events in a way that is informative, easily-read and provocative . . .
A drunken dentist, a killer-captain . . . whatever next?
I'm going to look up the rest of your file, to find out . . .
3 Stars for the write + 1 star for originality + 1 star for emotive content = 5 stars.
Well done.

Wow so much to say on this one. I feel shocked, angered, repulsed and mystified. I don't understand how someone could get by with this. What he/they did was cruel, inhumane and he deserved to be punished as would any other person. What is wrong with this world?

This was just an excellent write, seriously it just blew me away. You are so talented you should think of writing a novel.

Wow this one was good.

((5)) All the way on this one.

Kie
