Across green sweeping fields, far away,
Another place I think of today,
A pretty woman in another land,
Would she perchance hold my hand?
It is lonely upon this hill,
Just the whistling wind, the biting chill,
But I just visualise her many charms,
And wish she were here in my arms.
Perhaps you think that all I do is dream,
To many I acknowledge it would seem,
But she makes me smile from far away,
If only I could kiss her lips today.
Do not confuse my words with lust,
Her body grand but her heart I must,
Not win but sway so she sees I care,
With all my heart I wish she were here.
It will never be, this will be no fairy tale,
Yet her absence will not make me wail,
I will let all of you smirk and deride,
Though not here, she is still by my side.
