A Lonely Mind Wonders

I sit here,
Facing this essay,
Wanting nothing more than to finish it,
To have it complete.
But my mind has it's own plans,
Because it is alone,
And a mind that is left alone,
Is left to wonder...
It jumps sparatically from topic to topic,
Idea to idea,
Changing with every spark of a neuron in my body...
I want to concentrate,
But I have no control,
I am left helpless...
I am helpless because a lonely mind,
When left alone,
Wonders.
I wonder what tomorrow will bring,
Happiness, or heartache.
I wonder what my future will be like,
Will I be withing the comfort of your embrace,
Or left outisde to fight to the front of the race?
Will I be in your heart,
Or pryed out like a virus?
My mind wonders,
And it will continue until you return...
