CAN YOU READ HEARTS?

Contributed by lovingcritters on Wednesday, 17th March 2004 @ 06:04:41 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

"CAN YOU READ HEARTS?"

One swallow, two sighs, turn right.
Listen to it's beat, my heart's homesite.
Straight to follow, a clean loving sweep.
Steep incline, still waters, dangerously deep!

Two hearts you will find if only you'll peek.
Heart of a poet, seat of motivation, mystique.
"Mind's Eye," is it's partner, heart plus mind...
Facon de parlner, figure of speech, combined

Another heart, literally small, fist size.
A mighty muscle, pumps our blood relies.
Touching this material heart, scientists find.
May affect both hearts, finely entwined.

An open wound inflicted, heart surgery.
Literal muscle traumatized, easily cries, amply
Figurative heart's emotions involved closer now.
Bleeding heart, feelings surface, more endow.

What's in another person's heart easy seeks
"For out of a heart's abundance, his mouth speaks!"
"Good hearts bring forth good treasure."
"Hearts of bad bring forth vulgar, rotten verdure!

Poet's hearts seen plainly, poems on paper written
Sad, burdened, depressed, hurting heart,
down trodden.,
Witty, joyful, funny, clown-like,
affectionate, and loving.
Hearts of want, searching, pleading,
bleeding, longing........

Open hearts written down for all to view.
Positive hearts lift, up-build, everyone,
mostly you!'
Dark Hearts pull hearts down, blues bestrew!
Hearts that are guarded carefully,
lovingly rescue.

I remember you saying to me that when your good you can see the good in other people. Is it the same way with hearts? Well I think you have a wonderful heart and you radiate all things good. I look forward to the next one. Kie

I have to agree 100% with Kie and also include her as a loving heart and many others I have found on this site. You write so beautifully, Connie. No one can deny that.

Lots of hugs,
Rita

Upon what hopes do we pin,
the tell-tale of our heart's beating,
alas the coin often ends its spin,
in the domain none deem worth receiving.

I wonder why I wrote the above... but I dunno.. it just springs out as I am reading your work. I guess that is the color of my heart perhaps...unleashed by your wonderful poetic song. Nice poem. you are right.... the heart is a wondrous instrument scientifically and in the domains of art and feelings. But it is also a major cause of death( heart attack) and the well of all the pains of emotion.

Ah yes, the poets see. So hard to live with those non poets. We struggle so to communicate with them. I love this. You have laid it all out so clearly and beautifully.
