All alone I cry out his name,
Stag of Rhedynfr on Fernbrake Hill.
Looking for myself in all this shame,
Searching for the wild that we try to kill.
Calling to the Lord of the Animals,
Needing to draw his pride into me.
Remembering that I am just as mammal,
Hopeing that that is the key.
A bellowing call in the back of my head,
A gateway between two birch trees,
Damh's spirit pulls, and on I'm lead,
Through to the Otherworld, which frees.
Calmness settles in my mind,
A fierce protection circles my soul.
Strength follows the others in kind,
Much more dignified, my stroll.
My thanks set adrift on the wind,
I pull back the body that's mine,
Knowing that I am now kinned
With the Stag of seven tines.
