swallowed so much pain lately
breathing becomes an agony
that tears cannot soothe
and I lift my eyes to you
wondering if you are the one
knowing the answer
before the words come
in black letters
sharper than a blade
they cut my pride
you know I tried
to please
tried to be
something I'm not
lost soul inside
stumbles over you
the dark side of me
