As I sit here and think back
To a time not long ago
I think of all the memories
That have been let go
I’m not sure I can handle
This thing that you call life
Change did me no good
Just like I thought it would
And this falling apart,
It’s no surprise
But all I can say
Is that this life is pretty plain
Like a desert with no rain
And all I choose to do
Is stay among this group of few
Seeing all this chaos through
Though it isn’t sane,
I’ll never speak my point of view
It seems to be my fault
If the whole world is crumpling
You seem to think I push
All those who are stumbling
But honestly, tell me
Are those things that I would do?
And all you seem to say is,
“The easiest target is you,”
But all I can say
Is that this life is pretty plain
Like a desert with no rain
And all I choose to do
Is stay among this group of few
Seeing all this chaos through
Though it isn’t sane,
I’ll never speak my point of view
