little bird little bird
you sit all alone on your perch
feathers dull and eyes that weep
set the bird free i say others not
keep it in its guilded cage they say
if they keep it in the cage it will surely die
little bird little bird
longs to be free
the cage door has been left open
little bird your moment has come
fly fly fly little bird
soar soar soar as high as you can
they try to catch you but they cant
you will never go back to the guilded cage
and be as you once were
one day of freedom is worth more than a lifetime in the cage
so fly fly fly little bird
and enjoy your freedom as long as it lasts

"one day of freedom is worth more than a lifetime in the cage"
So very true and I thought this was so nice to read.

This poem is unique because it was both nursery rhyme- ish and deep. I was sad to see it on the least read list. |
