A monk he sits there waiting for his higher state of mind,
Everyday excited for the secrets he may find.
He has no earthly worries from where his spirit food will come,
He’s guaranteed a sunrise from the mountainside, his home.
Months pass to years pass to decades of human solitude,
Shared with kindred spirits who exist alone, sharing food.
Each unique and hermit-like and each with growing wisdom,
Each happy and contented contemplating God’s kingdom.
Manta upon mantra for a gorgeous state of mind,
Anonymous but introspective deeper truths to find.
Centuries may change disciple but some dear things remain,
Like the soul’s undying thirst, impossible to drain.
The monk he leaves his earthly like, another takes his place,
Another shaven devotee, one more contented face.
The cycle will continue, wherever men are free,
To live the life of peaceful bliss, in their Utopian society.
