LoveRemembered
|
He wrapped his words around my heart,
And sealed them with a kiss.
If love is supposed to be so grand,
Why do I hurt like this?
He filled me with his stories,
And then crushed me with his lies,
He fooled me into thinking
That there was love within his eyes.
I’m no longer sure what I saw,
Or even sure of what I felt,
He taught me how to handle pain,
And work with the cards I’ve been dealt.
He left a lasting memory
I’m not sure if that’s good or bad,
And even though he hurt me so badly,
His absence still makes me sad.
I guess the timing wasn’t right,
Maybe it was all just too late,
I think I’ve finally learned my lesson,
And will leave my love life up to fate.
