Wrongly Picteresque

Contributed by Avarice_Riot on Monday, 15th March 2004 @ 01:05:49 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I love you most when I don't know you
In the dark, where sight is blind
and you are only there by touch.
A breath, a scent, a whisper are all
it takes to melt me into crystalline
drops of lifeblood for you to drink.

But is the one who takes me really you?
Or just the person I want you to be?

I've lost all sense of focus when
it comes to deciphering you.
I've come to know the stranger in
your eyes even better than the truth
you choose to lock behind your heart.

A dreamer's vision is not always
enough to gain the life you want
And I want so badly to unchain your doors
But you keep holding me back on the edge
Until I begin to feel I fear your truth.

I love the alien in you
I can't help my weakness
This is only a shadow of my despondency
I can't go, I can't leave
Not when I still love
the stranger in you.

This is amazingly beautiful ..
here I see very sensuous line:
" to melt me into crystalline drops of lifeblood for you to drink."...and here I read very brilliant line: "A dreamer's vision is not always
enough to gain the life you want"..
Best of luck..venkat

i loved the whole concept there's a stranger in all of us, my father used to come out with an old saying when we were children "never show your hand" and sometimes you have to be like that in life, or the enemy gains the advantage!

Wow, this is the best poem of you I have read so far! Sometimes holding on to a dream, especially when you know the truth is (too) painful is the only way to show mercy to yourself and the other.
Great work!

Oh, this is good. It is that mystery in a person that we love and the person that we dream they are. We don't want to see the reality. You've captured that well.
