A Few Words Unspoken

Contributed by morelikelyrics on Sunday, 14th March 2004 @ 10:21:44 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A gleaming vase with a single red rose,
Assorted candies in boxed heart shapes,
And a handwritten poem of loving prose,
Sitting outside your door, they wait.

But theres something astray,
Like a machine without token
It just sits there all day,
I left it out, a few words unspoken.

Its just happened to slip my mind,
Too busy, caught up with time,
For love is bliss,
But to forget is a crime.

And so outside of these love's gates,
I ring the tone to stand and wait...

But theres something wrong,
Like beautiful lyrics,
without a musical song,
I left it out, these words left unspoken,

No excuse can forgive,
Nor a reason to outlive,
'Cause theres no way to change the fact,
I left the words out,
And now theres no way back

But if time could rewind,
And another chance was mine,
I'd take advantage of the time,
Wouldn't let go of 'till you were mine.

'Cause these words unspoken,
Should have been said long ago,
But the only way to fix things broken,
Is to mend the wounds and start from zero

The words unspoken,
Are sticks without glue,
This craft's broken,
Until I have the courage to say,
I love you...

Very, very well done... I loved it!! Very touching to the heart... those three lil words are left unspoken so so very often... it's like they r right on the tips of our tongues... and we forget or have not the courage to left them be spoken!
In saying all of that... me thinks it just inspired another poem for me... LOL Thanks!!
