Thunder Inside
Hush child
Don't cry
It's not thunder
It's just the poor palpitations of my sick sad heart
I am not able to heal
Of let a doctor examine
I may only be in my early 40s
But my body feels geriatric
And sometimes generic
Too much too young
And now too late
To tolerate
Any procedures
However large or meager
It is what it is
A sick sad heart that is not interested in being repaired
I think the years grow short
The days drag so long.
When this pathetic beast
Hiding in it's cage of ribs
Grows too tired
It will just forever slumber
At peace at last
