I was feeling very lonely
And I didn't notice tears falling down
I remembered you when I heard the sound
Of our song playing on the street
Everyone stared, I wondered if you
Remember me like they now do
I've heard a million times
You're not worth my tears anymore
But somehow I think otherwise
I want just one more goodbye
Cause I was not prepared yet
To let you go when you left
I want you to be happy
I wish I knew
Why you
Could not be with me
And I refused to accept
What others would see
I still believe I need you
Don't you understand I miss you
Oh, I wish this was the last time I cry
I've heard a million times
You're not worth my tears anymore
But somehow I think otherwise
I wasnt just one more goodbye
Cause I was not prepared yet
To let you go when you left

I can definitely relate to this well thought out poem. My loved one left me abruptly for, what seemed, to be no reason at all. It's not easy getting over the ones that you love....
Well done, I look forward to reading more of your work! |

It's hard for me to comment on this poem because someone has locked me out without a proper good-bye. I need closure and I'm not getting any...yet closure will or might make it worse; because this way I'm hanging on to a shred of hope..like hanging on to a rope until bit by bit the last thread of rope finally breaks and I fall...fall fall..plunging down to finally hit the hard earth of reality. Don't know what's worse???? Great write except.....it reminds me. |
