Gone

Topic: dedicatedpoems

In the blink of an eye you were gone.
Why did you leave us so soon.
It seems so wrong.
I cry not knowing that you won’t be here at the break of dawn.
I’ll think of you and all I see is that beautiful angel that use to be.
All I have are the memories within.
The pictures on the wall.
The thoughts of you and the kids playing ball.
Who would have know that god would call you home so soon.
Time to rest and relax.
Time to let go of the pain and burden.
Think about us.
Think about the past.
Watch over us , make sure we last.
God let us borrow for just a brief moment.
We laughed, we cried so suddenly you died.
We hugged for years, shed so many tears.
God then decided to take you home.
We love you and we miss you.
Rest and relax and with gods will soon we shall meet you there.

I love the opening line to this
"In the blink of an eye you were gone".I think it sums up how you are never really prepared to lose someone.
Just remember what you say in your poem though, you still have the memories
Take care
