high school

Contributed by poetporshaye on Friday, 12th March 2004 @ 10:58:55 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

dances and games
parties and more
going to class is always a bore

cheerleaders and jocks
all saying mean things
not bothering to mention their little flings

a broken down spirit
sorrow shows on a face
but still you mustn't invade their little space

they're too good
too good to even notice you
this is all so true

skater or nerd
outkast or jock
they all get a simple frown

never able to sit and talk
talk with "royalty"
taking notice to their loyalty

its a pit of hell
which we all go through
i only wish that they knew

knew how we feel to be dismissed
to be looked over
when all you want is to be closer

closer to the glory
the glory of the games
wanting to have popularity, high school fame

waiting for a wave
or a noticeable glance
but they won't acknowledge you if you're not in their "clan"

its almost over
all the bad days
when each of us will go our separate ways

into a world where popularity no longer matters
its what you've learned in the end
how to start and begin

so now they're broke
searching for a handout
and you're handing dollars to people you know nothing about

now you go back to the years
when who you knew meant the world
thinking back to all the lonely boys and girls

now its all a faded memory
of how you spent your younger days
of when you were never popular, that memory stays

you're married with children
and a house of your own
letting go was hard but now you've grown
