Hand in Hand

Topic: Nostalgic

What a lucky fella I am
the way that I can speak to you
and can be myself with you
In ways we only understand.

In hard times and good
I know you surely would,
Stick by me as a best mate should.
Just like a strong piece of wood!

And when I get real testy
You always get the best of me.
And sit me down, no mucking around
Then you show me what’s the best thing!

Our love will ebb and flow
But babe it’ll never go
As others have gone in the past,
I know that we will never part.

You are my dream girl
And in this harsh world
Dreams can sure come true,
Mine have surely come with you.

When I’m not near you
This is so true
We are together you and me
Just like two kids up a tree.

From my heart to yours,
You will find some flaws
I’m like a rough uncut gem
You will sometimes go Ehh hem.

Then I will know I’ve stuffed it up,
But you will help me pick it up.
Cause we are the best of friends
Two lovers forever, Amen.

Cause we know things others don’t
About ourselves and most won’t,
Want to know or understand
You and me hand in hand.

So as we go on our life’s journeys
You and me we get a little dirty
From our collections of rust,
We help each other polish up.

So as our story goes on and on
We help each other to hold on
It’s the best thing we can do.
Hand in Hand me and you.
