into the thicket rushing
breathless
wild eyed, panting
thirsty looking
outstretched hand
offered in peace
sniffing
what intruder is this
territorial
mine
yours
no mans land
eye to eye
green and brown
reflective
wanting acceptence
the sound of air
crickets scuttle
birds flit from branches
teeth bared
trust me
no
sprint away

I loved this! I tried to do something similar, but I just couldn't make it work right. What a unique mind you must have. Keep it up! ; 0 ) |

Well, having read this twice, and read the rest of your submissions (I liked wolfman), I'd have to say that this is your best so far.
You have a talent for first person/beast perspective, and an intuitive expression of animalistic instinct/thoughtstream I find uncanny, which shows itself in this poem.
Very intriguing. I'll be watching your submissions from now on . . . |
