thrashing

Contributed by wolfdreamer on Wednesday, 10th March 2004 @ 10:26:05 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

tethered by your cruel tongue
to read your words over again
in the darkest hours of my day
as life seeps away like blood
your hatred chills me to the bone
woven strands of sadness
into the fabric of your soul
you spill your words like rain
I soaked them up like parched earth
to nourish my roots and soul
never knowing they were not for me
nor for anyone in particular at all
but anyone who they would lure
into your arms distrust
and faith is not a word you know
or have a heart to seek
but would rather bend love low
and break the branches one by one
always I will bear the scar of you
upon my heart next to other loves
who've come and gone
but none so cruel as you

I can't wait to read more of your writing. I really liked the way you compared love to a tree and the breaking of branches. Very unique. You write the way I wish I could, but not all of us have that much talent. Oh well (sigh) anyhow thank you for sharing. ; 0 )
