oops
|
the sun rises on your heels
nipping at greatness
assaulting the earth
your grip firm on the slippery bronze
formaldehyde
the sweat of two lifetimes
press the burnished wood to your bruised shoulder
"the pain will not be for much
longer" the petals weep
in the pure morning flood
"leave your identity for us
to love, for we will not see
you for some time. The pain
is as our life and our life
your love."
a faint smile
why not smile, you no longer have
anything to lose
absorbed in the suns gentle warmth
frozen in time, the time we will share together
