Thank You for Nothing

Contributed by suzy on Saturday, 14th September 2002 @ 07:29:03 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

One minute you make me feel like I’m the only one
Then the next it’s like I’m just someone whose there
You won’t know what you had until I’m gone
We’re no longer floating on air

My feet touched the ground a long time ago
Yours touched down long before mine
I feel like a puppet putting on a show
I’m upset at myself for being so blind

I should have known it would come to an end
Why would you be any different than the others?
I gave you all of me just to end up a friend
I don’t know why I even continue to bother

I guess I should thank you for opening my eyes
And letting me see love just wasn’t meant for me
I’m happy that all of this I finally realized
Now life can go on and I can be alone pretending to be happy

Lasca,
I'm good for remembering quotes that stick with me. I don't know if I passed this one on to you (or anyone else here at YPDC, for that matter), but it applies here:

"You've got a good heart...give it to someone who knows how to love."

Man of your dreams may have a huge hole impossible to fill. Don't waste your magic on someone who can't be moved by it. I've learned...it's not worth the effort.
