There’s an angel on my shoulder
I feel her most every day
And when I get distressed and weary
She seems to help me find my way
There’s an angel on my shoulder
And though I haven’t seen her face
There have been many times
I have felt the warmth and comfort of her embrace
There’s an angel on my shoulder
When happiness seems too far away
She lifts me out of gloom
A message of God’s love she always seems to relay.
There’s an angel on my shoulder
And GOD, even though I often fail you
You always send her here
To stop me, somehow, from feeling so blue
