I've got to go here... I've got to go there
I've got to do this... I've got to do that
No wonder the house looks a mess!!
I'm never home anymore to do anything
I'm always on the go... gone somewhere
Always doing something for someone else!
And when I am home... I'm always so- oo- ooo tired
No time for myself... no time at all!
Just a little peace and quiet is all I desire
A little to relax and admire
The scenery around me
But if I didn't do these things...
Who would?
What would happen?
Would these things ever get done?
The answers to these questions... and more
No one would...
Nothing would happen...
'Cause nothing would ever get done!
Oh, Lord, help me with this internal struggle...
Should I be selfish or help others?
You guide me, Lord, in your ways
'Cause I'm always helping... trying to be a friend
Helping others must be my main vocation
I do thank the Lord above for two things though...
I'm not married and I have no children
But just the same... I'm as busy or busier as if I did
Sometimes... I just sit and think...
A little appreciation once- in- awhile would be nice
But... oh well... I guess... THAT'S JUST LIFE!!!!

Hey poetry daughter,
Very good explanation. I use to could relate but I live a very quit, kicked back laid back life.
when I was younger I use to be the same way except I raised three kids alone.
I know it seems we are taking for granted alot but when u get older It will come back around for you.
U are a good person for the good things u do for others.
Your poetry mamma is very proud of u.
For those that don't know she adopted me as her poetry mom from another site.
