This is a world behind a curtain
Where noone's perfect
And nothing's certain
Put on your glaces
And look on stage
No one has has trouble
And it doesn't seem strange
So beautiful
It almost makes you sick
No makeup, real hair
Shiny, smooth and think
Do you wish
Secretly in your head
Just for a moment
You were there instead
Oh yes, it's attractive
But not all that glitters is gold
Don't trust your eyes
Don't believe in what you're told
How fake is that seemingly natural beauty
And to fool others, what a shame
When it gets too much for you
Cowardly others you blame
But where is your inner strength
To withstand the sweet lie
If only we were true to ourselves
We wouldn't have needed excuses
For the chances that pass us by
Time to wake up my dear
It might feel like after a hangover
Stop every time you fail
Aiming, next time, lower
This is a world behind a curtain
Where noone's perfect
And nothing's certain

ohhh this is so true, amazing what actually goes on behind the curtains isnt it? i love your earthy style of reality, your poetry is well penned and i so enjoy it all, keep writin' my friend, hugs n' love nessa

| I really enjoyed this poem, especially since I act a lot on stage and sometimes you do realize how fake it is and others you just choose to ignore it...but all in all, even if I didn't act, I think the meaning in this one applies to everyone....thanks for an awesome read |
