It hurts so bad, so deep
Down where others fail to see
Keep it locked up—hold the façade
Continue the charade to hide the flawed
Under the surface imperfections hide
Force it before they see what’s inside
If they touch, if they feel then they might know
What will they think when my faults are shown?
So many wrongs all around me and within
Keep them at bay so they won’t see my sin.
So awful, so ugly just don’t let them look
So nasty, unhealthy from the beauty they took
Look away I am so unworthy of your stare
I know it must be my fault you didn’t want me there
I’m awkward and loud, so unlike the rest
I want to be normal but that’s impossible to test
Everyone else knows what to talk, think and feel
Like there’s some script to this life but I know that’s not real
I think way too much and it’s hard to say
What I really want when my thoughts get in my way
How can they all be so sure?
They act so coy, so sweet, so demure.
I’m so tired of hiding behind meaningless “things”
Makeup, clothes, what good do they bring?
All this deception, and it’s all so fake
With all these perfects, who can relate?
They just ignore me and my awkward stance.
They see right through me with their shallow glance
They think I’m hollow, so ugly and wrong
At least now I know that’ll I’ll never belong.
