gone

Topic: DarkPoetry

depressed,
i heard the news,
a friend's ex's son died.
i take the hurt,
the grief unto myself.
i can't stop feeling depressed,
can't stop feeling other's negative feelings.
the trails of scars lead to my soul,
hurting.
i will keep doing this until i can 'redeem' myself.
never,
never will i be bale to redeem myself,
forever taking blame,
hurt,
grief from others.
my tears are gone,
seared away long ago.
i hate myself,
want to end my internal anguish,
the hurt,
the pain.
i want to help people,
to relieve them of the pain,
giving up myself.
may i die in pain,
so no one has to feel it.
may i die young,
so no one can be hurt.
may i die for my self afflictions.
may i die for everyone.
may i die to be redeemed.

Death will never make restitution for those things you feel you have done to wrong others. To live your life as proof that you have grown beyond your mistakes is the only way you will ever make right the wrongs you feel you have done. Don't ever give up on yourself. We all do things we are not proud of. This is ok, as long as we live the lesson and teach by example. A simple "I am sorry for hurting you" will go a long way. Even if the other person does not feel it is enough, you have admitted to yourself that you have violated one of the rules you have set for yourself and you have appologized and learned not to ever do that again. Life is for learning. We do not come here with all the answers. The best we can do on our path to adulthood and maturity is try our best not to harm anyone else along the way...but we will. Never forget the things you have done wrong, but forgive yourself and live your life as an example of kindness and love for the world to observe.
Take care,
Sherry

This is a great write, Mark. Hits close to home because I've damn near killed myself trying to help others to make up for my past mistakes. Listen to Sherry, she is a smart woman. Her truths in the comment above are those I have found through much trial and error. Bless you in whatever you do... and thank you for sharing this touching piece. -Jason
