DreamsandWishes

Selfish wishes,
wasted thoughts,
hopeless detail.
For once can't it be my way,
not messed up
no confusion,
endless frustration,
despair.
These tears burn at my cheeks,
while my heart blackens with turmoil.
Put a shroud over my eyes.
Blind my sight.
I don't want to see this pain.
Fill me full of empty emotion,
these feelings tear at my skin like vultures.
No one knows.
I'm like a dusty book,
waiting to be open,
to let loose my knowlegde,
my wishful thoughts,
prayers silenced by forces outside my grasp.
For once I want to be selfish,
think only of myself,
have endless attention,
praise, confidence
but;
for now,
my desires will go on,
unspoken,
till my shell cracks and the world views all my
shattered pieces

Very good,I especially like the last phrase.
Exposed, vulnarable, we all feel like that.
Great poem. |
