i think it's pretty clear i'm the only different one sitting here
mufti day proved that in fact
i turned up proud to be different
and i'm still refusing to turn back
my long stripey socks are so much more fun
they made your plain denims look so glum
you all looked the same
soul-less
whilst i was full of dreams
what's your favourite colour black?
well mine's bright green!!
you thought the pink streaks in my black hair were amusing
i try to figure out which ones which out of all your friends and it's confusing!!!
you've never heard the words "i have a dream"
i don't worship gods i worship history's kings and queens
who were different and stuck out from the crowd
even when people locked them up and called them mad
i've just noticed this poem doesn't quite rhyme
but what the hell
do me for crime
because i don't care what you think
i'll carry on mixing green with pink
and you can carry on laughing
with the same laugh as everybody else
because i decide who i am
and how i dress
