1. Baju zirah, perisai dan pedang yang teragung sekali
kalau disimbah hujan lama-kelamaan rapuh berkarat; hitam.
Jasa lama dan pengorbanan lama pula
Turut dilupakan, ketinggalan dalam masa silam.
Yang berani dan gagah perkasa
Dan yang putih tapak kakinya
Tetap sampai di kesudahan yang sama

Maka
Apakah itu harganya
Maruah seorang wira?

2. Aku bertungkus-lumus, dengan sepenuh hatiku,
Menggenggam bara api, sampai ianya arang
Bertungkus-lumus menunaikan tanggungjawab
Hingga tukul lesap dihakis
Bermati-matian berjuang
Hingga bilah pisau lesap ketumpulan
Dan kuku jari retak dan berkelumuran darah
Sewenang-wenangnya untuk suatu fajar yang takkan menyinsing...

Maka
Apakah itu ertinya
Kejayaan dan kecemerlangan?
