IN THE STILL OF THE SOUL

Contributed by Del on Tuesday, 9th March 2004 @ 12:19:57 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

You may say to someone, 'I love you.'
Are you sure your love is real?
In the still of your soul you wonder,
Is this exactly the way I feel?

Our hearts may tell us something,
That our souls do not accept.
In the still of our soul we know,
So many secrets are kept.

Most everyone in our world prays to a God.
Worshiping him like you were taught to do.
In the still of the soul you're wondering,
Are all these Gods listening to you?

I always felt, in the still of my soul
Wars and strife will never cease.
Until we all only pray to one God
We'll never find love or world
peace.

I think that, that holds meaning to all of us. Seeing as most people learn to love people they know they either cant have, or cant make room for in their life at the moment, because of some reason or another, yet your heart wants it so badly, yet your soul knows that it would be best to not go with it.

Anyways, it was a really good poem.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
