Screaming at Nothing

Contributed by Cobalt on Monday, 8th March 2004 @ 11:20:36 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Falling down
I've lost my mind
Just can't seem to decide
To laugh or scream though
I think I'd like peace of mind
Seems so far away from me
Going under again I guess
Can't seem to help but drown
No longer able to just relax
And unable to unplug
Too much always
Running through my head
Without release or salvation
Think I'd rather die
The knife whispers to me gently
Promising me escape from this
Hand is trembling at the thought
But it still makes me sick
Wanting nothing more
Than to cut and drink
My life away
Try to turn away yet
Still it whispers sweetly to me
Like a black hole
No release and no escape
My hope is swallowed whole
Nothing able to save me now

Raven's Sin

Intense write, you described it really well until I felt I was going through what you were. Kudos.

I don't generally read 'dark poetry' but this title caught me and pulled me in. I have had times in my life where I wanted to scream at anything but not know exactly what to scream at. That primal need to extinquish that burning flame in your gut with an animalistic primitive scream of inner pain. This is an excellent piece of work.

This is a very powerful write. There is something magnetic about the dark side inside of us. I have no answers why it calls and there is a temptation to get lost in it or succumb to it. Make sense? Writing is a great form of expression for emotions and thoughts. You did a great job constructing this one. Kie
