Can I cry on your shoulder?
Can you lend me it for just a while?
I'm just trying to find a little comfort,
some way to ease this trial.
Can you hold my hands within yours,
and warm them slowly with your love.
Can you guard my heart within yours,
and surround it with your love.
Can you ease the pain inside me
that's crying out in bright red screams?
Can you hold me as I fight
against the power of these awful dreams?
Can you make the sun rise instead of set,
and the light comforting not painfully bright?
Can you silence the noises that torment me,
and reopen in me some type of fight?
Can I cry on your shoulder?
Can you lend me it for just a while?
I'm just trying to find a little comfort,
some way to ease this trial.
