so much love, so much pain

Contributed by wyrd_faerie on Sunday, 7th March 2004 @ 06:08:04 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I lie here in this pool of sorrow, thinking thoughts of blood and dreams, of you,
These memories that plague my mind undo the walls I build, as all the tears seep through,
I drown inside these unforgiving sands of time in my mind – this heart that was forever yours and never mine
And I sacrifice my life to hold you, and I lose myself with every tear I cry

These puddles of ice that are the frozen lies that fall endlessly from my eyes
Tell stories of my life and moments lost in time, my love for you so purified,
I draw these kisses on my skin that I so long to have from you, to feel a pain so true,
And the barbed wire chains and razorblade games I play for want of you, I always lose.

I lay on this funeral bed you helped me make, memories of times passed where you and I have so beautifully lain,
Worshipping one another, entwined together in these black promises and hearts we so easily gave,
And now as I mourn here, ripped in two, longing for a part of you, wanting, needing your arms just to breathe,
And I’ve tried so hard not to love you, to erase these thoughts of you, but even in my sleep you invade my dreams.

In all these lives I reminisce in tears for you, so many words exchanged for every kiss we blew, so much pain embedded in this love, so many lies, so much truth,
So many years it took so little to lose, these hearts we bound together so tightly, so completely, so hard to undo,
And for now, I’ll cry for so many mistakes, for so many memories I’m left with only to hate,
For so many feelings in my heart that I want so much to fade,
Because so much love for so long can only leave so much pain
And forever, I love you, I hate you…I just want to be us again

this poem is really good but, (and htis is probably just because i have a simple mind and can't handle much), it could be a little shorter, or just broken up more in the last 2 stanzas to make it seem less bulky
